Introduction

My name is Dave, and I have been with Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester for the past eight years, and involved with the veterinary field for over seventeen years. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Animal Sciences from the University of Massachusetts in 1995 and in 2009 passed the (VTNE) to become a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). In 2013 I passed the rigorous application and examination process to become certified by the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians (AVECCT).

I try to stay as involved as I can in the profession of veterinary technology by serving as credentials chair for the New Hampshire Veterinary Technician Association (NHVTA) and working closely with AVECCT to mentor future VTS applicants. I am also a member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS), and the International Academy of Veterinary Pain Management (IAVPM).

The purpose of this blog will be to provide a source of reliable information regarding your pets' health.  I will focus mainly on topics regarding emergency care for your pets as that is my specialty.  If you're looking for advice on vaccines, what flea and tick products to use, or how to find a good groomer, you'll be quite disappointed.  Your primary veterinarian should be more than capable on giving you advice on those topics.

I welcome any feedback you may have and would love to hear suggestions of topics you would love to learn about.  I look forward to educating you, the readers.
